Privacy Policy

This page explains what information Morgan Reid Books collects when you visit the site or request a free download, how that information is used, and the choices you have. The short version: I only collect what I need to send you what you asked for, I do not sell your information, and you can leave the email list at any time.

Who this applies to

This policy covers morganreidbooks.com and the free resources offered here, including the checklists and guides tied to The DIY Vintage Audio Workshop and other Morgan Reid titles. "I" and "me" refer to the publisher operating under the name Morgan Reid.

What I collect

• Your email address, when you enter it to request a free checklist or guide. That is the only personal detail the sign-up form asks for.
• Basic technical and usage information that a website receives automatically, such as your IP address, browser and device type, and the pages you visit. This is handled by the website host for running and securing the site, and by Google Analytics to measure site usage in aggregate (see “Cookies and analytics” below).

I do not ask for your name, address, payment details, or any sensitive information on this site.

How I use it

• To send you the specific free resource you requested.
• To send occasional emails with practical tips and a note when new titles in the series are released. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time.
• To understand, in aggregate, which pages and resources are useful so I can improve them.

Cookies and analytics

This site uses Google Analytics, a service provided by Google, to understand in aggregate how visitors find and use the site so I can improve it. Google Analytics sets its own cookies (such as those beginning with _ga) and collects technical and usage information like your IP address, device and browser type, and the pages you view. This information is used only in aggregate to measure and improve the site. It is not used for third-party advertising, and I do not run advertising or remarketing trackers here.

You can read how Google handles this data in Google’s privacy policy, and you can opt out of Google Analytics on all websites by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. Most browsers also let you block or delete cookies in their settings. Apart from analytics, the website host may set a small number of essential cookies needed to serve pages and process the sign-up form securely. If advertising trackers are ever added, this policy will be updated and consent requested where the law requires it.

Who I share it with

I share information only with the service providers that make the site work, and only so they can perform their function:

• The website and form host (Netlify), which serves the pages and receives sign-up form submissions.
• Google Analytics (Google), which processes aggregate usage data as described above to help me understand and improve the site.
• An email service provider, which stores the list and delivers the emails and downloads you requested.

I do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to anyone. Information may be disclosed if required by law.

Your choices and rights

• Unsubscribe from emails at any time using the link in any message.
• Access or delete your information by contacting me using the details below, and I will remove your email from the list on request.
• If you live in the European Economic Area, the UK, or Switzerland, you have rights under the GDPR including access, correction, deletion, and the right to lodge a complaint with your data protection authority.
• If you are a California resident, you have rights under the CCPA including the right to know what is collected and to request deletion. I do not sell personal information.

How long I keep it

Your email stays on the list until you unsubscribe or ask to be removed. Technical server logs are kept only for a short period by the host for security and troubleshooting.

Security

Reasonable measures are used to protect your information, including reputable providers that secure data in transit. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, so I cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children

This site is intended for adults and is not directed at children under 16. I do not knowingly collect information from children.

Links to other sites

Pages here link to other sites, such as Amazon book listings. Those sites have their own privacy practices, and this policy does not cover them.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed. Material changes will be reflected here.
